“After a humiliating command performance at Lincoln Center, the Barden Bellas enter an international competition that no American group has ever won in order to regain their status and right to perform.”
So if you’re like me, you saw the first Pitch Perfect and were genuinely surprised by how good it was. Pitch Perfect 2 thing had some decent shoes to fill, and you know for the most part it really does. The cast is back here with some good new additions that all fit perfectly into this machine. This is also the directorial debut for Elizabeth Banks and she really nails it. She does a good job at keeping the attention moving from character to character and her sense of comedic timing is really great. All the actresses here also share the screen really well and you feel their chemistry. The singing here is also really on point as you would expect and the choice of songs as well is also really great. The success of this movie will be a great poster child for women lead films and female directors also, which that group really needs a big box office win to point to when people say women lead or women directed movies don’t make money. All in all this movie is almost every bit as good as the first, so if you are a fan of it you should definitely check this one out, even if you haven’t seen the first this movie is a really solid comedy.
