“Tarzan, having acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment.”
First off, let me say, JESUS CHRIST ALMIGHTY Alexander Skarsgård was already a good looking man but by God he is YOKED to the eye balls in this movie and it is something to behold. Man crush aside, he is genuinely a very good Tarzan. He has the look the and everything else. Just the way he held his hands and walked, all spoke Tarzan. To the movie itself, its good, but its not great. Every where this movie finds to shine, it finds somewhere else generally to lag behind a bit. And that’s the real story of this entire movie, positives and negatives all around, but a bit more positive than negative. Margot Robbie is also a vision as always in here, and makes just as good of a Jane as Alexander’s Tarzan. The Congo also looks breathtaking, and with the combination of the nature beauty of Africa, plus the use of a lot of drums in the score, you get a real great feel for the environment that could create a man like Tarzan. The flash backs to how he actually became Tarzan were also some of the better parts of the movie. To be honest this movie really shines when Tarzan is in full swing and full flight. All in all I think this movie is much more enjoyable than a lot of critics have been saying.
