“Jack Reacher must uncover the truth behind a major government conspiracy in order to clear his name. On the run as a fugitive from the law, Reacher uncovers a potential secret from his past that could change his life forever.”
The first Jack Reacher to me, was a pleasant surprise. The second Jack Reacher is more of the same really. The best way to describe this movie is probably a grade A, B movie. What I mean by that is this is a solid movie for what it is, and what it is, is a B level action movie (all be it with some A level talent). This movie doesn’t so much continue the story of the first movie as much as it expounds upon it and the lure it created to tell a new story in the same world as before. The story is fine, the acting is fine, the action is fine, its all fine. Tom Cruise is as ever his professional self, and he plays well off of Colbie Smulders and the younger actress here but nothing in this movie really stands out. That’s not so much an indictment against this movie, its just one of those movies that is better for having lower expectations, but its also a movie that just about anyone should enjoy in some way or the other. All in all like I said before, a grade A B movie from start to finish here.
